The emergency rule Erdogan declared after surviving the failed July 15 coup has meant the suspension of a series of basic rights and freedoms in Turkey, making the planned visa waiver even more difficult and hastening the course toward collision. Cautious and prudent Israeli policy has largely succeeded over the last five years in sealing off the Syrian civil war from Israel’s territory. This has been achieved through the careful cultivation of a working relationship with rebel militias on the other side of the border, along with a readiness to act decisively on occasion to neutralize emergent dangers.The success of such a policy is by definition fragile, as is the calm it produces. Posted on Tuesday August 16th, 2016 by kurdishnationalcouncil KNC– On Saturday, August 13, 2016, the KNC’s president, Mr. Ibrahim Biro, was abducted by the PYD-linked Asayiș in broad daylight. At 6 pm, two Asayiș vehicles stopped Ibrahim Biro’s car in the city centre of Qamișlo and forced him at gunpoint to enter their car without mentioning any reason for the arrest. They brought him to an unknown place and kept him there for 6 hours. 16 August 2016 – The US military has said that it was notified of the first bombing raids by Russian warplanes using a base in western Iran, with the Tu-22M3 bombers passing through territory where American aircraft also operate against the Islamic State.The spokesman for the US-led coalition in Iraq and Syria, Colonel Christopher Garver, said:The Russians did notify the coalition as per the Memorandum of Understanding for safety of flight. Boris Johnson hat einen frühen Bezug zu Israel: Der neue britische Außenminister und seine Schwester Rachel arbeiteten 1984 in einem Kibbutz . Er hatte gerade sein erstes Studienjahr in Oxford beendet, sie hatte ihr Abitur bestanden. Der heutige Politiker schrubbte dort in der Hitze Pfannen. Das geht aus Rachels Tagebucheinträgen hervor. Der zweite Beitrag aus Murat Kaymans Blog-Trilogie „Trauerspiel in drei Teilen“ ist ein Stück Prosa von ausgesuchter Perfidie. Kayman, Jurist und Koordinator der Ditib-Landesverbände in Deutschland, attackiert darin den Freiburger Islamtheologen Abdel-Hakim Ourghi, der unter anderem in dieser Zeitung und in der „Zeit“ publiziert und sich als Kritiker eines fundamentalistischen Islams einen Namen gemacht hat. Ourghi vertritt einen aufgeklärten Islam, der sich von den gewaltsamen Passagen des Korans der zweiten medinensischen Eroberungsphase distanziert und sich auf den friedlichen Koran der mekkanischen Offenbarungsphase beschränkt.
