The current reality in Syria is gradually prompting a change in US policy, out of an understanding that the lines between the many Sunni actors operating in the war-torn state are vague and elusive. There may now be a turning point in the Obama administration’s assessment of the situation, as it realizes that there are no truly moderate forces in Syria that can serve as an alternative to the Assad regime, and that at the end of the day, all of the Sunni groups, whether Salafist groups or others, will cooperate with al-Qaeda or anyone else who can aid them in forming a unified front in the struggle against Assad. This understanding is at the basis of the US initiative, led by Secretary of State John Kerry, to formulate a shared policy with Russia regarding involvement in the fighting in Syria. In the framework under formulation, the powers aim to “freeze” the situation in Syria, although it has already become clear that the “situation freeze” is an ambitious objective in the ongoing civil war and proxy war and highly difficult to implement. From Washington’s point of view, Turkey has become as much of a headache as an ally. Never has a NATO member strayed so far from the fold. This pushes the United States toward a painful choice. It can disavow Mr. Erdogan, break with Turkey and even try to expel it from NATO. That would be the moral course toward a tyranny-in-the-making. The jihadist-led Jaish al Fatah launched a major offensive in southwestern Aleppo on July 31 to break the siege of the rebel-held part of the city. The offensive comes after the last supply route north of Aleppo was severed on July 28 by pro-regime forces encompassing the Syrian Arab Army, Shia militias backed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the US-backed Kurdish People’s Defense Units (YPG). Nach Angaben iranischer Medien vom Donnerstag handelte es sich bei den Männern um Mitglieder einer terroristischen und kriminellen sunnitischen Gruppe in der Provinz Kurdistan.
Die Männer hätten Dutzende Menschenleben auf dem Gewissen, darunter auch Frauen und Kinder, berichtete das Justizbüro in Kurdistan am Donnerstag. 4 August 2016 – DER SPIEGEL ONLINE – Linke und Liberale waren stets für die doppelte Staatsbürgerschaft. Jetzt demonstrieren Deutschtürken bei uns für Erdogan. Da ist etwas schiefgelaufen – auf allen Seiten. Wir brauchen endlich ein vernünftiges Staatsbürgerschaftsrecht.
Katrina Rauhdonat Am besten wäre doch a) ein Pass (deutsch) in dem sich Mehmet Öztürk in Ottokar Schulze verwandelt, was ganz offensichtlich eine großartige kulturelle Bereicherung bedeuten würde, während im Pass b) der alte türkische oder kurdische Name erhalten bleibt: Mehmet Öztürk ! Letzterer war und ist und bliebe der eigentliche Pass, während die Version a) (deutsch) nur so eine Funktion hätte wie ein Einkaufsvoucher beim Media Markt. Diese Regelung entspräche auch ideal dem Gleichheitsgebot des Grundgesetzes, worauf angeblich vielen Deutschtürken schwören, weil die einen einen klaren Handels- und Wettbewerbsvorteil durch 2 Pässe behaupten könnten, wäre die indigene Deutschbevölkerung passmäßig reduziert. Früher hätte man in alledem eine Tendenz zum Kolonialismus erkannt – besser heißt das: Integration. www.mesop.de
