Hezbollah: We Are Collaborating with Kurdish Militia YPG
2 April – 2017 – By Scott Lucas – eaworldview – Two Hezbollah commanders have revealed collaboration with the Kurdish militia YPG over the past year.
The Assad regime has denied any arrangements for co-operation with the YPG, formally rejecting any autonomous Syrian Kurdistan.
However, the Hezbollah commanders said they directly coordinated with the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, led by YPG, as they advanced in northern Syria against the Islamic State and clashed with Syrian rebels. “We share intel…everything,” one commander said. “These people [the YPG] will take from whoever will serve their interests.” Read full text http://www.mesop.de/?p=84378

The PKK-Assad regime story: harmony, discord and Ocalan – A history of relations between Damascus, the Kurdistan Workers Party and the party’s ideological leader
The relationship between the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), under the leadership of Abdallah Ocalan, and the Syrian regime goes back to the early 1980s. Yet even before Ocalan left Syria on 10 October 1998, Hafez al-Assad’s regime categorically denied having any relationship with the PKK. Syria denied the presence of the PKK’s bases and its leader on Syrian territory, despite the fact that after the closure of the party’s Bekaa Valley base in 1992, the regime opened three more outside Damascus (in Sahnaya, Shebaa and Al-Nashabiya.) Tens of thousands of fighters were trained at these bases under the protection and observation of the Syrian intelligence services, just like the bases Hezbollah and the armed Palestinian factions ran in Syria.

The Syrian civil war has seen the rise of a number of factions claiming a tribal basis. One of the most prominent groups of this sort is Liwa al-Baqir, which is aligned with the regime. Based in Aleppo province, the militia traces its origins in Bekara tribesmen. Quwat Muqatili al-Asha’ir (“Forces of the Fighters of the Tribes”), the subject of this piece, is another pro-regime militia highlighting a tribal basis, as illustrated by its very name.

Efforts have been conducted and some propaganda has been made within the efforts. But any effort to introduce the flag of a local administration as the flag of all nations is a mere exaggeration.
