26 Jan 017 – By Scott Lucas – eaworldview – Defying Tuesday’s ceasefire annoucement by Russia, Iran, and Turkey, the Assad regime is continuing its month-long offensive to overrun the Wadi Barada area, northwest of Damascus. Hezbollah and regime forces continued regular mortar fire on Wednesday, forcing thousands of civilians to seek underground shelter, according to a statement from local opposition sources. The sources said the attacks “are targeting anyone and everyone, regardless of age.” Samer Rihan, director of the Ein al-Fijeh Medical Center, told Syria Direct: There are 50-60 people huddled together in a single basement. Request campaign launched for access to EU Commissioners’ travel expenses
Madrid, 26 January 2017 – Access Info Europe today launched a public campaign to crowd source access to EU documents requests to obtain full information on the spending by EU Commissioners on travel costs following the discovery that Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker spent €63,126 on an air taxi to Turkey for the G20 summit.
The discover about President Juncker’s air taxi came after a documents request by Access Info team member Alba Gutiérrez.
