MESOP TODAYS COMMENTARY ON TURKEY –  TURKEY’S PERMANENT STATE OF CRISIS

By Soner Cagaptay –  Washington Post – December 20, 2016

Each new PKK and Islamic State attack drives a wedge deeper into Turkish society. When the PKK attacks, the pro-government bloc blames the opposition; when the Islamic State attacks, the opposition blames the government. For instance, after a PKK attack on off-duty soldiers, which killed 14 people in the central Anatolian city of Kayseri, pro-government mobs firebombed branches of the pro-Kurdish opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) all over the country. Similarly, in the wake of the July 2015 Islamic State attack in Suruc, which killed 32 people, protesters blamed the government for failing to stop it. The Islamic State and the PKK, whose affiliate Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) claimed responsibility for the twin bombing in Istanbul on Dec. 10 that killed at least 29 people, will only further exploit this crisis. MESOP “THE BERLIN ATTACK DETAILED” – THE BACKGROUND & CIRCUMSTANCES

DIRTY DEED  ISIS: We Did Berlin Truck Attack

ISIS claimed responsibility for Monday’s Christmas market slaughter not long after German authorities released their initial suspect.

By Katie Zavadski –  12.21.16  – THE DAILY BEAST – A “soldier” of the Islamic State carried out the truck attack in Berlin on Monday evening, the terrorist group claimed through its unofficial news agency. Twelve people were killed and dozens more injured when a hijacked truck loaded with steel crashed into a popular Christmas market. A suspect was detained near the scene by German authorities, but he was later released on Tuesday, when officials said they did not have proof he was the individual driving the truck.

The claim of responsibility comes through the Amaq News Agency, which ISIS typically uses to announce attacks it orchestrated or inspired. Like in other claims of responsibility, the news agency cited a security source within the Islamic State. It is not immediately clear whether the terrorist group directed or merely inspired the perpetrator of the Berlin attack.  Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=81296

Written by Alessandria Masi  – 20Dec 2016  – BEIRUT – Eastern Aleppo has been a bastion for the Syrian opposition since 2012, just a year after the start of the conflict, until this week, when forces loyal to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad seized the rebel-held area.

MESOP INVESTIGATION :  The Deception of a Pro-Assad Activist at the UN

December  – By Scott Lucas – eaworldview  – 21 Dec 2016 – Eva Bartlett is a Canadian activist who has dedicated herself to supporting Syria’s Assad regime through propaganda. For months, she has been featured on conspiracy sites denigrating civilians and rescue workers in opposition-controlled areas. Recently she gained international attention with an appearance at the UN, organized by the Assad regime’s representative Bashar al-Ja’afari.

The performance featured a collection of Bartlett’s disinformation, including a claim that the White Helmets civil defense volunteers were staging their rescues of children.

But this time, Bartlett’s propaganda would not go unchallenged: Britain’s Channel 4 took apart one of her claims.

This is the first article in our forthcoming section Syria Oracle, with fact-checking and analysis to expose the propaganda — by the Assad regime and State actors such as Russia, assisted by activists like Bartlett and even journalists — in the Syrian conflict. !KNOW BETTER WITH MESOP NEWS! : Tehran Tries to Sort Out Its Next Steps in Syria

December 21 – By Scott Lucas – eaworldview –  Iran has maintained its criticism of the UN Security Council resolution, drafted by Russia and France and passed unanimously, that mandates international monitors in Aleppo and other areas of Syria. The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, said the resolution tries to ensure the survival of “terrorists” and will not help resolve the humanitarian crisis. He said it may escalate tensions in Syria.Shamkhani said that, instead of “one-sided resolutions and statements”, the UN Security Council should halt shipment of weapons, fighters, and financial supports to the “terrorists”.  Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=81322

NORTH KURDISTAN (TURKEY)

MESOP NEWS : A DECLARATION OF  EUROPEAN PKK-AFFILIATED WOMEN  – TO THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

On the 9th of January, 2013, three Kurdish female politicians Sakine Cansiz, Fidan Dogan and Leyla Saylemez were assassinated in Paris. In the time after the assassinations the documents, tapes and witnesses all pointed towards the Turkish Intelligence Services (MIT) as the organisers and perpetrators of this heinous attack. The prosecutor had conducted his inquiry and had gathered the evidence and documents to submit to the courts, which he done in May, 2015. Despite this, the case did not start. After the Kurdish people’s struggle for the case to be heard and for justice to be served, the courts announced that the case would start on the 5th of December, 2016, but then later moved it to the 23rd of January, 2017.  Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=81320

  • DIE STRUKTUR DES MIGRATIONSPROBLEMS –

MESOP PER ORDRE DU JOUR : EPITAPH AUF ROLF PETER SIEFERLE VON GUSTAV SEIBT (Süddeutsche Zeitung)

– Volltext http://www.mesop.de/?p=81304
