MESOP NEWS TODAYS OPINION : TRUMP & THE MIDDLE EAST – BETWEEN HOPE & APPREHENSION
By Salim Abdullah el-Haj – Fikra Forum – November 30, 2016 – Although most everyone in the region badly wants to turn the page on present-day failures, uncertainties about the next administration abound.
When Republican nominee Donald Trump won the majority of Electoral College votes in the American presidential elections on Nov. 8, it astonished many communities across the world. The outcome was unexpected, given that most analyses and predictions had pointed to a completely different trajectory than the one that occurred that night. However, everyone soon realized they were facing a reality that needed to be dealt with seriously to avoid negative side effects, and this is what characterized international political activity in the two weeks following the election. Considering the possibility that there may be a major difference between Trump the president and Trump the candidate also helped move along communications between the newcomer to the White House and a world apprehensive about his inclinations. MESOP NEWS TODAYS SPECIAL PAYMENTS : Semi-Sultan Erdogan’s Payments to General Flynn; Turkish State Terrorism & the Kurds
4 Dec 2016 – By Dr. M. Kamiar: On the American Election Day of November 8, 2016, retired Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn, now President Trump’s National Security Advisor, suggested the U.S. should extradite coup suspect Mr. Gulen to Turkey. On the Election Day, General Michael Flynn (November 8, 2016) penned an article for The Hill newspaper entitled, “Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support.” He argued, “Turkey is vital to U.S. interests. Turkey is really our strongest ally against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), as well as a source of stability in the region.” General Flynn is accurate in saying Turkey “is facing calamity and needs America’s help. But, the situation is a byproduct of the implication of radical Islamist policies of fascist Sultan Erdogan. The General’s recommendation came after he was paid as a lobbyist for Ankara. America should not assist Turkey’s murderer Sultan. Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=80748
MESOP TODAYS SOURCES – COMMENTARIES BY CENGIZ CANDAR / FEHIM TASTEKIN / STAFFAN DE MISTURA et.al.
Erdogan’s Syria policy hits dead end in Aleppo
Cengiz Candar writes, “The fate of Aleppo has the potential to seal the fate of [President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan’s regime in Turkey. Too many of Erdogan’s eggs are placed in the basket of northern Syrian geopolitics, and most of them are likely to crack.”
In other words, Turkey’s Syria policy, which since 2011 has facilitated the rise of jihadi groups allied with Jabhat al-Nusra, al-Qaeda’s largest affiliate ever, may be on the brink of collapse, along with those remaining Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Aleppo who are holding the besieged citizens of the city hostage under brutal bombardment by the Syrian military and its allies. SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ)
MESOP NEWS DECISIONS : DEALING WITH TEHRAN ? OR BETTER WITH ANKARA ?
The prospect of an Iran-KRG pipeline deal – South Kurdistan (Iraq)
Erbil is still to confirm a deal to build a pipeline to Iran to export oil, which could allow it more flexibility in negotiations with its neighbours. An alternative export route could allow the KRG to break its dependency on Turkey and grant it more freedom in some areas of its foreign policy.
The deal could also help thaw difficult Erbil-Baghdad relations. Ultimately, however, the KRG could end up replacing its complicated set of obligations to Ankara with a new set to Tehran. Tehran is reportedly still waiting for action from Erbil on a tentative deal to build a pipeline to Iran to export Kurdish oil. The KRG and Iran have been inching closer to such a deal for several years, which would allow the KRG to eventually break its dependence on Turkey as an export route. A deal has reportedly been ready since April of this year, seemingly requiring only KRG approval to go ahead. Read all http://www.mesop.de/?p=80752
WEST KURDIST AN (SYRIA)
MESOP DOCUMENTS : SALIH MUSLIM’S STATEMENT
Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat – Democratic Union Party – حزب الاتحاد الديمقراطي – 04/12/2016 – Public Statement By PYD / PKK (YPG)
Following the recent developments in Turkey and President Erdogan’s takeover of all state institutions, including the judiciary, a Turkish court, which lacks justice and fairness, has issued an arrest warrant to arrest me by invoking fabricated baseless charges. This move indicates that the court’s ruling is a political decision, ordered by the governing authorities, which view every Kurd who demands the democratic rights of the Kurdish people through the prism of terrorism. Despite the fact that I am a Syrian Kurdish citizen who defends the democratic rights of all Syrians and the Kurdish people within the borders of the Syrian state.
Accordingly, I call upon all international political powers and the relevant institutions and authorities to take this ruling as a political decision that does not have a legal basis. The warrant was issued to obstruct my political and diplomatic activities with the parties concerned with the Kurdish and Syrian affairs.
I hope that this is taken into consideration.
Yours faithfully, Saleh Muslim Mohamed – Co-President of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)

Volltext http://www.mesop.de/?p=80741
MESOP APPELL : AUFRUF GEGEN JEDE ART VON SEXUALRASSISMUS !
SCHWEIGEN SIE NICHT MEHR, FRAU KÜNAST ! WAS KÖNNEN WIR ALLEINSCHULDIGEN DENN NUN WIRKLICH TUN ?
Gegen Sexualrassismus !
