MESOP KOBANE : Drowned Refugee Children Who Washed Ashore in Viral Photograph Identified
Two drowned children whose bodies washed ashore in Turkey after the boat by which they were trying to reach Europe capsized have been identified as Galip Kurdi and Aylan, refugees from the Kurdish Syrian city of Kobane. Nine other people drowned when the boat sank, including the children’s mother, Rehan. The boys are survived by their father, Abdullah, who has abandoned his plans to travel to Canada to return to Kobane to bury his family. www.mesop.de

MESOP TODAYS COMMENTARY – NATO Allies Making It Easier for Iran to Attack Israel?
by Burak Bekdil – September 3, 2015 – Iran did not go mad and threaten to hit all NATO installations in Turkey because it wanted 3.5 million Turkish citizens to die from the chemical warhead of a Syrian missile. It went mad and threatened because it viewed the defensive NATO assets in Turkey as a threat to its offensive missile capabilities.Iran’s reaction to the NATO assets in Turkey revealed its intentions to attack. It could be a coincidence that the U.S. and Germany (most likely to be followed by Spain) have decided to withdraw their Patriot missile batteries and troops from Turkey shortly after agreeing to a nuclear deal with Iran. But if it is a coincidence, it is a very suspicious one. Why were Assad’s missiles a threat to Turkey two and a half years ago, but are not today? – Apparently, NATO allies believe, although the idea defies logic, that the nuclear deal with Iran will discourage the mullahs in Tehran from attacking Israel. MESOP BACKGROUND: Islamic State allegedly strikes Aleppo and Al-Hasakah with chemical weapons
The Islamic State (IS) has reportedly struck both Marea, 26km north of Aleppo, and Al-Hasakah to the east with chemical weapons, local medical staff and activists told Syria Direct on Wednesday.
“Patient injuries are similar to the attack on Marea on August 21,” Tariq Najjar, Marea Hospital administrative director told Syria Direct on Wednesday, describing the attack the day before. As many as 20 people were injured in the reported chemical weapons attack against Marea, which filled the city with a “loathsome smell,” reported pro-opposition Orient News on Tuesday. Bayik denies he has taken refuge in Iran

Wer noch Ohren hat, dem wird nicht entgangen sein, wie viele dekonstruktivistische Kulturtheoretiker samt Antideutschen und anderen poststrukturalistischen Erscheinungen von der großen Gefahr der nie wieder gutzumachenden „Zerstörung unschätzbarer abendländischer Kulturgüter“ redeten. „Abendländisches Kulturgut“? – ist das nicht PEGIDA? Und ist nicht IS – bei Allah – dann doch näher an der Moderne als gedacht, wenn nur die „Götzen“ von Palmyra und Umgebung vernichtet werden sollen?

Macht Schluß mit Palmyra und dem ganzen abendländischen Stuss. Niemand ist darin so konsequent und erfolgreich wie IS – nicht einmal die postmoderne Linke.

Auch die Germanisten stehen „Gewehr bei Fuß“ und befürchten die Abwicklung ihrer Klassen und Kollegen: „Es geht um einen Kampf auf Leben und Tod“, sagt der Deutschlehrer Alain Christophe: „Am Ende der Reform steht das Ende des Deutschunterrichts.“ „Was erzählen wir den Schülern, die gerade mit Latein begonnen haben und nicht wissen, ob sie nächstes Jahr weitermachen können?“, stöhnt die Verbandssprecherin und Lateinlehrerin Sabine Bollack: „Es geht nur noch um Gadgets. Lernen soll wie Spielen sein. Alles, was irgendeine Anstrengung voraussetzt, wird in Frage gestellt.“
