MESOP WEST KURDISTAN : YPG/PYD VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS ?

YPG & SOHR  – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights calls upon the YPG, the Asayesh and the executive office of the Self-governance in al-Jazira district to refrain from unjustly detaining civilians:

The YPG and the Asayesh (Kurdish security forces) carried out a series of raids, inspections and arrests in Reef Ras al-A’in (Seri Kaniye) city of al-Hasaka province on who they called “supporters of the ISIS”. Sources from the city confirmed that several were detained with no information on their identities. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights demands the YPG, the Asayesh and the executive office of the Democratic Self-governance in al-Jazira area to refrain from detaining civilians who have not committed a crime or destabilized the area’s security and to refer all perpetrators to a just and independent court. The Syrian Observatory also demands the YPG, the Asayesh and the executive office of the Democratic Self-governance to allow his lawyers and activists entry into all prisons and detention centres in the Self-governance district. https://www.facebook.com/syriahroe/posts/522209921220684?stream_ref=10
