MESOP : WE DO ALL FOR GOD & THE MONEY ISIS asks for ransom to free Peshmerga commander

 23.06.2014 – Nuwar Faqie – BasNews, Mosul – The Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) is allegedly asking for a large ransom in return for the release of a Peshmerga commander who is being held captive by the Sunni insurgents since last week.

A source from inside the Peshmerga has said that the Peshmerga commander mistakenly entered ISIS-held territory in Saadiya where he was captured. The Peshmerga Ministry has yet to officially act on the problem.The source explained that there are approximately 60 to 80 insurgents in Saadiya, a lot of which are former members of the Ba’ath Party, which controlled the town during Saddam Hussein’s regime. The source also pointed out that civilians in south Saadiya have taken up arms and have claimed to be ready to stand against threats or attack by ISIS.
