Two Kurds try to rebuild Iraqi Army

31.07.2014 – BasNews, Baghdad – New Iraqi President of Kurdish descent Fuad Masum recently made a statement expounding on the importance of rebuilding the Iraqi Army.Masum, in a meeting with fellow Kurd and Iraqi Army Chief Lt. General Babakir Zebari talked about the important of having a strong and competent army to protect all Iraqis from the threat of jihadist insurgents.

“Eliminating terrorism would be on the hands of Iraqi army,” added Masum.However, the new Iraqi president also said that the reshaping of the army should be fashioned on the basis of professionalism and patriotism. The call for a stronger army comes after their previous collapse back in June to Islamic State of Iraq and Shams insurgents as they took over northern Iraqi cities.
