 Turkey to Officially Open Border With Rojava / Ankara to let civilians cross borders two days a week

Basnews – 19 June 2015 ANKARA – A Kurdish official from Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan, locally referred to as Rojava, has revealed Turkish plans to officially open the border with Syrian Kurdistan to civilians.

A BasNews source in Rojava says Turkey has decided to open the border gate at the Mursitpinar crossing, between Kobani and Turkey. Turkish authorities will open the border on Mondays and Thursdays, allowing civilians from both sides to cross. According to Kobani authorities, civilians will need ID or a passport to cross the borders and from the Syrian Kurdistan side, civilians require Kobani security force approval. The development comes after a number of meetings between Kurdish officials from Syrian Kurdistan and Turkish authorities in Turkey.
