MESOP : THE MULLAH’S COPY PUTIN – Iran builds 70 military posts across Iraqi Kurdistan border

24.05.2014 – Shaho Kareem – BasNews, Iran – Iranian military forces have revealed that the Iranian Government will close down a number of border crossings between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Iran.

Muhammad Hussain Rajabi, an Iranian commander at a one of the border crossings explained that the 208km border they share with the Kurdish region of Iraq has caused security problems. He hopes that some crossings will be closed in order to stabilize the area. The general commander of the Iranian border patrol said that Tehran has allocated a budget for the military to secure the border areas. He also revealed that in recent years 70 new military posts have been created across the Iran-Iraq border and most are monitored with advanced technology.

Furthermore, Iranian authorities also said that new military posts have been built close to the Qandil Mountains (a sanctuary for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party) and that traffic there would be closely monitored.
