MESOP : TEHRAN KILLS HUMAN RIGHTS ACITIVIS IN TURKEY
MESOP LATEST : 11-8-2014 – Prominent Iranian Activist Found Dead in Turkey: According to reports, activist and editor/co-founder of Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA) Seyed Jamal Hosseini has been found dead in his apartment by Turkish authorities. There is no information about the cause of death at the moment. According to HRANA, “He turned all stones trying to bring back the human rights of Iranians. Due to his tireless work, he was always the target of hatred and conspiracies by the Iranian security and intelligence forces.”
In other news, the IMF has reported that Iran’s economy and national inflation have largely reduced as a result of President Rouhani’s efforts to reduce energy subsidies, along with the easing of international sanctions. “The process of stabilization has taken hold and we do see the results already in a dramatic improvement in inflation…from a peak of 45 percent last year to 15 percent last month,” director of the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia department told reporters in Tehran.
