MESOP SHORT CUTS : KDP official urges HDP to participate in Turkish government / Lay down arms & rule

Waar, Duhok: 8 June 2015 – The “best policy” for Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) is to participate in the Turkish government and set two points as conditions for their participation, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) top official said.

Head of (KDP) Foreign Relations Office Hemin Hawrami congratulated HDP for passing the 10 percent threshold in Turkey’s parliamentary elections on Sunday. He said that the HDP should accept to participate in the government on two conditions: Turkish government should formalize Kurdish language and the Kurdish question in Turkey had to be resolved. He also highlighted the role of Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani and PM Nechirvan Barzani in Kurdish areas in Turkey. Hawrami hoped that HDP would manage to make the PKK lay down its arms.
