MESOP REMEMBER! : 3 Years Ago — Children’s Reminders of the Regime’s Chemical Attacks Near Damascus
Three years ago today, the Syrian military attacked multiple locations near Damascus with munitions filled with sarin nerve agent. A conservative estimate is that 1,400 people died during the early-morning attacks or afterwards from their injuries.
A child from the area recalls the day with a message to the international community: “Shame all these people died. Nothing remains.”
Another talks of the loss of his father and others — “We just keep seeing people falling like tree leaves to the ground” — and says, “May God never forgive [Assad] since many people were killed”:
And another concludes his recollection, “After three years of chemical attacks, we remember our friends”: www.mesop.de
