Kurdistan Presidency: Barzani has not visited Iran and the Kurdish people do not need…       

July 22, 2014 – shafaaq com – ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region ‘Iraq’,— The presidency of Kurdistan Region denied on Tuesday, what they called as falsehoods published by Baghdad against Kurdistan region on the region’s president, Massoud Barzani visit to Tehran and Iranian officials rejection to the policies of the region towards the Iraqi crisis and the right of self-determination and control of Kurdish Peshmerge forces on Kirkuk.

According to the statement of the spokesman for the presidency of the region, Umêd Sabah, said that “A number of sites and media agencies loyal to Baghdad authorities continued its falsehoods against Kurdistan Region in the past few days, adding that some Kurdish internal media has published inaccurate news about an alleged visit of the region’s president, Massoud Barzani to Tehran.” Sabah said that this news is fabricated and far from the truth, noting that Kurdistan president has not visited Iran.

He added that the policy of the region and Barzani is clear on the Iraqi crisis and the right of the Kurdish people to self-determination, stressing that Kurdistan does not need to obtain permission from any person to self-determination.

On the Iraqi crisis, Sabah said that Kurdistan Region supports helping Shiites and Sunnis brothers for the success of the political process, noting that it is working, at the same time to take political and legal action to get the right to self-determination of Kurdistan people.The remarks of Kurds leaders on self-determination has raised after the worsening political and security situation in Iraq and the dangerous developments that have occurred in recent times represented by the control of ISIS organization’s insurgents on large parts of Nineveh, Salahuddin and Diyala provinces after the sudden withdrawal of the Iraqi security forces.
