MESOP NOTES : FINAL RESOLUTION ON TURKEY – EU PARLIAMENT

Dear all,

as promised, please find attached the OFFICIAL version of the JOINT MOTION FOR RESOLUTION on EU-Turkey relations, that the European parliament will adopt tomorrow, Thursday, at 12h00.

Please note that 6 amendments to the text have been tabled (they are attached too), in my opinion they have NO CHANCE to be adopted, certainly not the AMEND 2-6 tabled by the Marine Le Pen’s political group (the AMEND 1 is tabled by the EPP Group alone, which means that in principle it has not enough votes for its adoption, but let’s see tomorrow).

The JOINT RESOLUTION as such is formally supported by the following groups : EPP – SOCIALISTS – ECR – ALDE – GUE/NGL – GREENS. This means that the resolution will be adopted by a very large majority of Members (I’ll keep you posted about the results tomorrow).
