MESOP NEWS “THE PKK PROBLEM” 12 People Died Under PKK Rule in Sinjar: Official – The official accuses PKK of kidnapping children in tinted windows vehicles

Leyla Hemid – BasNews – ERBIL — 4 Jan 2017 –  A top official from Sinjar blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) for the deteriorating security situation in Sinjar, asking the related parties to hold PKK at bay.

Head of Sinjar Administrative Council Wais Naif said that since PKK has taken over Sinjar some 12 members of Kurdistan Peshmerga forces as well as political and public sector cadres were killed in Sinjar. “This leads to extreme suspicion,” Naif told BasNews on Wednesday.

The official also claimed a few days ago that a group of PKK guerrillas opened fire on the Kurdish Security (Asayish) Office in Sinjar. He did not detail the event and continued by saying “a group of tamed people [in reference to PKK forces] have entered Sinjar and it’s in their interest to destabilize the town and they have obtained the chance to do so.”

Naif also slammed the Baghdad officials for “backing PKK in Sinjar” accusing PKK of enforcing “a new policy of Baghdad….otherwise why the PKK [forces] visibly come in tinted windows vehicles and kidnap Kurdish male and female youth, including children.” Iraqi PM Haidar al-Abadi on Tuesday evening said that Baghdad does not support PKK in launching attacks against Turkey on Iraq’s land but he did not comment on its support for the party inside Iraq while several reports reveal that Baghdad is backing the PKK in Sinjar, a Kurdish Yezidi town on Iraq-Syria border. www.mesop.de
