PYD Tortures ENKS Arrested Members: Official / The ruling party pressures the ENKS members to leave Rojava

Basnews English – 18/03/2017 – 15:55 – ERBIL — The ruling Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) is reportedly torturing the arrested politicians and activists from rival parties in Rojava (Syrian Kurdistan) to force them to leave the region.Ismail Hammi, member of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS), told BasNews “PYD [forces] have tortured the ENKS officials after interrogating them.”He revealed that a number of ENKS members have been tortured in Qamishlo and Amude cities in Hasaka province of Rojava by PYD, which is considered an offshoot of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

He added that the ENKS members are under severe pressure by the PYD forces and some of those tortured arrestees are in lousy health conditions, adding that no medical teams have visited them.Moreover, PYD jointly with the Syrian regime interrogate the arrested politicians and activists from rival parties in Rojava, a witness said. The rival parties now accuse the PKK of implementing an Iranian-Syrian agenda by strengthening ties between its Syrian offshoot, the PYD, and other proxies.
