MESOP NEWS : PKK’s Presence on KRG Borders Posing Threat to Civilians: Soran Mayor
Basnews English – 23/06/2017 – 03:41 – SORAN — Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has seized the situation on the borders between Kurdistan Region and Turkey to impose its control on the area which is considered a threat to civilians there, said mayor of Soran city, located northeast Erbil.
Even though their military activities have decreased in the area, but PKK moves forces in civilian-populated regions to escape Turkish airstrikes which is posing threat to the people of Kurdistan Region, said mayor Krmanj Ezzat. He pointed out that PKK’s presence on Kurdistan Region’s territories has no legitimacy according to the international laws, and the party is rejecting withdrawal of its forces despite constant calls to leave. www.mesop.de
