Russia denies Putin and Barzani discussed arms ties
3 June 2017 KURDPRESS – The spokesman of Russian presidency denied any talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani over military affairs.
According to Russia Today, Putin and Barzani met on Friday in Saint Petersburg n the sideline of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).Some media reports stated that the two leaders discussed Russia’s arms deal with the region but Kremlin spokesperson rejected the reports. Dmitry Peshkov stated that Putin and Barzani discussed only oil ties and other issues but never trade views on providing weapons or any other military issues.
