Arabs Who Have Links with IS Join PKK in Sinjar: Arab Tribes Spokesperson  –  Arab tribes oppose PKK presence in Sinjar

BasNews – 18Dec 2016 – MOSUL — The Arab tribes from Nineveh province oppose the presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the district of Sinjar, stating that Islamic State (IS) sympathizers have joined PKK in Sinjar in Nineveh Plains.Muzahim Ahmed, the spokesperson of the Nineveh Arab tribes, told BasNews on Sunday that they support Sinjar’s call for PKK forces’ withdrawal from the district, stating that they are posing dangers to the people of the area and will create tensions among them in the long run.

Ahmed also revealed that the Arab residents of the Nineveh Plains who have links with IS have now joined the PKK forces in Nineveh Plains.He warned the PKK forces to leave the district, firmly opposing their presence in Sinjar. The PKK forces moved to Sinjar district following the IS attack against the district and refuse to vacate the district despite the persistent calls by the people and officials of the area for their withdrawal.
