The US dropped the Syrian opposition at time of Russian intervention & adopted a uniquely anti-ISIS policy. Both countries feared that if Syrian opposition destroy the Syrian army, ISIS & al-Qaida would replace it. US & Russia shared same concerns even as they competed 4 Syria.
