Israel’s security service is investigating a ‘suspicious cup’ the Chinese embassy sent to Israel’s technology and space minister

The Shin Bet security service is examining whether China hid a bugging device in a thermal cup gifted to an Israeli minister, after a routine screening of the gift found “suspicious materials.”
The cup was sent from the Chinese embassy to Science, Technology and Space Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen. The security agency said the “incident is under investigation.” The Culture and Sports Ministry also said they had received a message from the Chinese embassy saying a cup is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
