MESOP LATEST : Syrian regime launchs chemical attack against Jobar in Damascus: opposition

August 21, 2014 – ARA News – Damascus, Syria – The Syrian opposition accused military forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad of launching a chemical attack against civilians in the neighbourhood of Jobar in central Damascus on Wednesday. At least six civilians died during the attack. Activists reported that the victims were apparently suffocated “due to the toxic gas used by pro-Assad forces in Jobar’s attack”.

According to the General Commission of the Syrian Revolution, the regime military forces targeted Jobar with chemical weapon.“The world should be aware that Assad regime still owns some chemical weapons, and the images published online showing the victims of Jobar are clear evidence that Assad’s chemical weapons were not completely handed over to the international community,” opposition activist Ali Musa told ARA News in Damascus. This comes one year after the chemical attack launched by pro-regime forces against the eastern Ghouta of Damascus countryside, August 21, 2013, where more than 1400 civilians were killed. http://aranews.net/2014/08/syrian-regime-launchs-chemical-attack-jobar-damascus-opposition/
