MESOP LATEST : Maliki sends a letter to Barzani
16.06.2014 – Bestun Kakayi – BasNews, Baghdad – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has sent a private letter to Kurdish President Massoud Barzani, the content of which is currently unknown.
Maliki sent the letter via the General Commander of the Iraqi army Babakir B. Zebari to Barzani, and has expressed hope that the response will be positive. According to Al-Baghdadia News the letter does not address Kurdish oil export, budget issues or Peshmarga forces. According to the Iraqi website, it contains a request to find a shared solution between Baghdad and Erbil for the recent violence caused by Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) attacks against the Iraqi Army.
