MESOP : KARAYILAN CALLS FOR CRITICAL INVESTIGATION ON YPG ABOUT THE KOBANE ATTACK

PKK warns about any Turkey operation into northern Syria

A member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leading council, Murat Karayilan, warned about any Turkey possible military operation into Syrian Kurdish regions and said the party would attack Turkey if Ankara sends troops into northern Syria.

He stated that Turkey military intervention into Syria would not be very easy as there are regional and international sensitivities and there would be reactions against the possible move and Turkey cannot do whatever it likes as military operation into northern Syria will make serious troubles for Ankara government, adding that it is quite clear that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) blame Kurds for their failure in June 7 parliament elections. Karayilan warned that any Turkish army operation into Syrian Kurdish cantons means an operation against all Kurds in the Middle East. “It makes no difference for us as attacking Kobani is equal to attack on Diyarbakir. As the pains of Syrian Kurds in the past 2 -3 years have bothered Kurds all over the world. I clearly state that if Turkish army attacks Syria Kurdistan we will attack them too. That time Turkey would turn into a battle field.” The PKK leader further blamed the Syrian Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) for the Islamic State (IS) attack onto Kobani despite a 5-memter-deep trench around the city, calling for an investigation about the attack.
