MESOP : FOLLOWING OBAMA’S ADVICE – THEY ALL GO TO TEHRAN – Saa’dia, Jalawla release impossible without Iran’s support: Peshmerga commander

SOUTH KURDISTAN (IRAQ) – A commander of the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga appreciated the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the operation that led to the release of two cities of Saa’dia and Jalawla and said the liberations were impossible without Iran’s support.“Iran had a good cooperation with us and the release of the two cities of Saa’dia and Jalawla were impossible without Iran’s help. We greatly appreciate Iran’s help,” Peshmerga commander Hamed Haji Ghali told Bas weekly.

Iranian military advisors and Shiite militias accompanied Kurdish forces in liberating the occupied region and Iranian Quds Forces Commander Ghasem Sulaimani attended in the operation, he said about the Iranian commander’s role in operations against the militants of the Islamic State (IS) that control large parts of Syria and Iraq. The commander said there are Shiite Arab people in the Saa’dia and Jalawla and the Kurds should deal with the issue realistically. He further added Peshmerga forces from both parties of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) attended in the operation, revealing that 150 members of the KDP have been killed in the cities.
