MESOP FOCUS : PKK statement lashes out at AKP / Warning against “Foreign conspiracy”

18.3.2014 – Kurdpress – The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in a statement harshly lashed out at Turkey ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for not taking concrete steps in peace talks with the outlawed party, Ozgur Gundem daily said.

The statement added the AKP has lost its position as the main negotiator with the PKK since the ruling party has not responded to “positive actions by Abdullah Ocalan (PKK jailed leader).”

The statement, however, warned about the situation of the AKP in Turkey and stated foreign powers are seeking to bring to power a new coalition government made of Republican People Party (CHP) and followers of the Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen. To understand the statement completely we should wait till Newroz celebrations and Ocalan’s due statement for the Kurdish festival, a member of the Wise Men for intervening in peace talks Mehdat Senjar said, stressing that for the peace negotiations to continue Ankara government is needed to release the political prisoners and make special laws to guarantee the talks.
