Karzan Hawrami – 3 June 2016 – BasNews – ROJAVA — The Iraqi government, at the request of the former PM Nouri al-Maliki, is considering the opening of a representative office for the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), said a Syrian Kurdish politician.

Nouri Brimo, a political commentator and a member of Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDP-S) claimed that Baghdad has decided to open the PYD representative office as part of its attempt to intervene in the Syrian Kurdistan [Rojava] affairs. Brimo told BasNews that the former Iraqi PM and the Head of the Shi’ite State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, in cooperation with the Iranian government, is facilitating the opening of the PYD office.  Maliki has offered to financially and politically support PYD in opening the office, he added. Brimo warned PYD that it is playing a “dangerous game” in the regional political conflicts. www.mesop.de
