MESOP FOCUS : IRAN ! – FOLLOWED BY PUK & PKK / Iran Against Division of Iraq: Official

Mira Rojkan – 06 February 2017 – BasNews – LEEDS — A senior adviser to the supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei, Ali Akbar Velayati, said that any possible threat to Iraq’s security and territorial integrity would affect the Middle East in general.

The Iranian official who spoke to reporters after his meeting with the United Nations special representative to Iraq, Jan Kubis, said they have discussed different possibilities for reinforcing Iraq’s territorial integrity and national solidarity.  Velayati explained that Tehran supports the legitimate and popular government in Iraq and continues to have cordial relations with Baghdad. He pointed out that Iran will continue supporting both the Iraqi and the Syrian governments and provide the help needed by them.

Jan Kubis, further said the Iraqi government and nation have made efforts in fighting terrorism in the country, and will continue to put all efforts in that cause even after they eliminate the Islamic State in Iraq.  www.mesop.de
