MESOP FLASH : Syria opposition army chief blames opposition coalition, accepts Damascus infiltration

11-5-2014 – Kurdpress – The founder and one of the main commanders of the Free Syria Army (FSA), opposition to Damascus government, Riyad Assa’ad blamed the opposition coalition for seeking their own benefits and stated some Damascus agents have infiltrated into the opposition army, Anadolu said.

Syria people put their hope in FSA for revolution but now those who are leading the opposition coalition are seeking their own benefits, Assa’ad told Anadolu, stating the coalition is unable to realize “the will of people.”He further added there are talks about annulling the coalition. Assa’ad, who has lost one of his legs in a battle, also claimed agents of the Syrian army have joined the FSA on the request of President Bashar al-Assad to spy on the army, adding that there are going towards forming a new military organization. The remarks came days after the chief of Syria opposition coalition Ahmad Asi al-Jarba visited the US to convince White House officials to dedicate more aids to Syria oppositions.
