MESOP FLASH : Ocalan’s brother criticizes Peace & Democracy Party (BDP) / NO ELECTION VICTORY!
05.04.2014 – Kako Ibrahim – BasNews, Turkey – Muhammad Ocalan, brother of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan, has criticized Turkey’s pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) for the loss of votes in last month’s Turkish municipal elections. In an interview with Turkish Newspaper Milliyet, Ocalan criticizes BDP leaders for the decline in voters in Turkey’s Kurdish region.
Ocalan, a member of the BDP, believes the party’s leaders should review their performances within the party. “In the towns and cities where BDP votes have decreased, the votes have not gone to the Justice and Development Party (AKP), instead the voters have boycotted the voting process. The BDP leadership should ask itself why the voters boycotted the election,” added Ocalan. “We say we won but that was not winning, the number of winning municipalities has increased, but we have to think more in-depth if we want to increase the votes,” said Ocalan.
