MESOP : DELAY WILL BE FOLLOWED BY NEXT DELAY – THE PROGNOSIS : Diyala Massacre to Delay Formation of New Iraqi Government
24.08.2014 – Diyar Aziz – BasNews, Erbil – Iraqi politician believes that the Massacre of Diyala Mosque last Friday was to delay the formation of the new Iraqi government. The Head of the Iraqi National List, Mithal al-Alusi, has stated that the aim of the attacks on the Diyala Mosque was to create obstacles in the formation of the new federal government of Iraq.
“All terrorist actions are a threat to social peace and they will have a negative impact on building a successful government,” said Alusi to BasNews. He pointed out that a successful government is different to a government that exists for its own sake. Sometimes when a government exists, it is a failure and full of crises such as Nouri al-Maliki’s last government of Iraq. Alusi noted that Iraqi politicians must rely on the Iraqi constitution to counter threats against the formation of the government and all parties and people have to support the new PM of Iraq, Haidar al-Abadi.
“After the Diyala Massacre, an explosion took place in Erbil, but that explosion was different to the Diyala’a explosion because the Diyala one had a political aim behind while the aim of the Erbil one was to target the success, development, stability and security of the Kurdistan Region,’ explained Alusi.
