MESOP : COLLECTING FOR SYRIA IN LONDON – Donor Conference Meets in London to Raise $9 Billion for Syria
At a separate conference in London, more than 70 world leaders are gathering to try to raise $9 billion to support humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing Syria and the expected costs of reconstruction. This is the fourth donor conference to meet to raise funds for Syria since the start of the civil war. “This is not just in the interests of Syria and her neighbours,” British Prime Minister David Cameron told the conferences. “It is in the interests of Europe too.
