Council of Ministers to discuss ban of Baath party
8 Dec 2014 – Waar, Duhok: Banning the Baath party will be discussed tomorrow during a session of Iraq’s Council of Ministers. According to obtained information, PM Haidar al-Abadi’s visits to Belgium and France and the issue of changing military officials from security institutions will be discussed during the session. Following the fall of then-dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003, the Baath party was banned from any political activity and thousands of employees affiliated with that party were removed from their positions.
