MESOP APPEAL “SIGN IRAN PETITION” : ‘Keep the Sanctions’ – VON THOMAS VON DER OSTEN-SACKEN
Einzig Israel widersetze sich dem Iran Deal ,der Rest der Welt unterstütze ihn, erklärte kürzlich der amerikanische Präsident und auch sein deutscher Amtskollege klang ganz ähnlich. Die Juden seien es, so die Botschaft, einmal mehr, die dem vom Rest angestrebten Weltfrieden im Weg stünden und sollten sie und ihr Staat kein Einsehen zeigen, so dürften sie sich über die Konsequenzen nicht wundern –
Nur, ganz so einfach läuft es zum Glück nicht. Nicht nur im Nahen Osten lehnen die meisten arabischen Länder den Deal ab, iranische Oppositionelle melden sich zu Wort und im Westen hat die kanadische Regierung das Abkommen scharf kritisiert.
Um die Position des kanadischen Premierministers zu stärken, ja, und um ihrer Solidarität mit der israelischen Haltung Ausdruck zu verleihen, hat die Organisation “Muslims facing Tomorrow” nun eine Petition verfasst, in der es unter anderen heißt:
We are united with all Jews who rightfully fear that the people of Israel will be the first target of a nuclear Iran, and with the Iranian people who have expressed their opposition to the clerical-based regime in Tehran that oppresses them on a daily basis. And we are united with all citizens of the free world who recognize that history is about to repeat itself and wish to do everything they can to ensure that this does not happen.
We, therefore, call upon all Canadians to support Prime Minister Harper and his government in rejecting the Iran nuclear deal. We also call on all the elected members in House of Commons in Ottawa, whatever their party, to remain steadfast in opposing the nuclear-deal with Iran, to keep the Canadian Embassy in Tehran closed, and to maintain economic sanctions against this totalitarian theocracy. It is Canada’s time to take the lead!
