It’s such a blatant lie: the Taliban is Al-Qaeda and vice versa. They’re tied by family, as well as by ideology and command structure. They’re just simply not distinct entities.

In his opening remarks, @SecBlinken acknowledged that the Taliban violated their commitments in the Trump surrender agreement. Then he goes on to note that the Taliban have pledged not to host al Qaeda. Then he says, “we intend to hold them accountable.” How?
