Iran can help easing tensions between Erbil and Baghdad: Mahmoud Osman
2-3-2014 – Kurdpress – A member of Kurdistani Alliance, main body of the Kurds in the Iraqi parliament, Mahmoud Osman has stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran can help easing tensions between Iraqi northern region of Kurdistan and the central government in Baghdad.
Addressing a press conference today, Osman blamed the central government for refraining from paying the salaries of Erbil governmental clerks, adding that the solution of the crisis needs a third line like Tehran. According to Burasa news agency Osman said Erbil is unable to produce 400000 barrels of oil per day but Baghdad stresses on the amount of production and the issue has caused tension between the two sides. He further doubted Iraqi parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi to solve the dispute.
