Limited attack on Syria ineffective, Assad should fall: Sieda tells Kurdpress
31.8.2013 – Kurdpress – A possible limited attack on the Syrian government will not make the changes the opposition lines in the country are seeking as their main demand in the fall of President Bashar al-Assad, the former leader of Syria National Coalition (SNC), Abdulbaset Sieda told Kurdpress on Thursday.
There are evidences that a West-propelled attack on Syria in imminent but we are not aware of the form and the scope of the air-to-ground attack, he told in the interview. A limited attack, however, is not what we are looking for as their main demand is bringing an en to the Syrian government, he went on to say. He added the opposition groups are planning a post-Assad Syria and will do their best not to repeat the mistakes occurred in post-war era in Iraq and Libya.
