Kurdistan Region will only wait one more year for article 140’s implementation: official

1.6.2014 – BasNews – A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Malla Bakhtiar said the Iraqi northern region of Kurdistan will wait no more than one year for Baghdad to implement the long-delayed article 140 which decides about the fate of the disputed regions which both the regional and the central governments claim jurisdiction over. The chief of the PUK political office, Bakhtiar further told a Kurdish conference in Brussels that the region’s policies towards the central government and reiterated Erbil will not bow to Baghdad over budget and financial issues.
