Kurdistan Region will export natural gas to Turkey by 2016: minister
21.6.2013 – London – Kurdpress – The self- ruling region of Kurdistan in the north of Iraq announced it would began exporting natural gas to neighboring Turkey by 2016.
Addressing a conference in London, the region’s Minister of Natural Resources, Ashti Hawrami, voiced his optimism the autonomous region will send natural gas to Turkey by 2016. The oil pipe line would launch by September, Hawrami said about the region’s construction of the line to Turkey, adding that the line would export 300,000 bpd. He added the amount would increase to a million barrels per day. The minister confirmed resuming oil exportation through the central government line would depend on an ultimate deal between Baghdad and Erbil.
