KURDISH REGIONAL GOVERNMENT : COMPLETING PIPE LINE TO TURKEY

28-10-2013 – MESOP  – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has completed its long expected pipeline to Turkey, former BD and present Genel Energy chief executive officer Tony Heyward said.

“The Kurdistan Regional Government has completed a 36-inch pipeline. The line has now been tied in and commissioning is taking place. This is the major inflection point for Kurdistan,” Heyward went on to say on Friday. The pipeline provides unhindered access to international markets for the first time after years of disputes with the government in Baghdad export revenue. Heyward added the pipeline will have capacity about 300000 barrels a day. He said the line will give the Kurds full control, bypassing the federal government. KRG Minister of Natural Resources, Ashti Hawrami, stated on October 3 that the line will become operational by the end of the year.
