Kilo calls to reform National Coalition, says ‘To Be or Not to Be’

MESOP TODAY’S OPINION BY MICHEL KILO – “Kilo says U.S. administration is seeking to prolong the Syrian conflict to strip the revolution form its principles, and turn it from a revolution for freedom, into a tool to settle its conflicts with Iran and Russia.”

31 Dec 2014 – (Zaman Al Wasl)- Veteran opposition figure, Michel Kilo, has drafted a complete plan to improve the effectiveness of the Coalition, and move from being a burden on the Syrian people and the revolution, into a real supporter.

Kilo found that the National Coalition has lost its ability to affect the internationally decisions’ making countries, especially the United States. He mentioned that United States controlled the Coalition and its decisions and goals, beside its effects on the Coalition’s members and their roles and benefits, as the USA controlled the way of letting them in the Coalition and the period of stay according to the United States best interest.

Kilo says U.S. administration is seeking to prolong the Syrian conflict to strip the revolution form its principles, and turn it from a revolution for freedom, into a tool to settle its conflicts with Iran and Russia. He expected that next role for the Coalition would be fighting “terrorism” otherwise the USA would dissolve it like other Syrian revolutionary bodies and find alternative.

Kilo put the Coalition in front of two options: either to follow the big powers’ solutions, and accept what they give whatever they were little and contradict with Syrian people’s best interests, or re-structure and organize themselves, and present themselves as a strong body able to dictate its political attitudes and demands on other powers, or ceasing things the Coalition don’t agree on.To achieve that, according to kilo, the Coalition needs to take steps and procedures to reduce and eliminate the other powers’ ability to achieve their purposes through it, to force them to respect the Coalition’s decisions as an irreplaceable partner.

In his plan, Kilo dealt with almost all details of the Syrian crisis, at local, regional and international levels, especially reforming the Coalition and its rules and procedures. He confirmed that he aimed from his project to rescue the Coalition from the position it reached to, as it with time could become a marginal body indecisive in its country’s conflict. He advised that effort is needed to find alternatives to help the coalition to reach to its goals, or prevent others from reaching to their goals using it. https://www.zamanalwsl.net/en/news/8122.html
