Iraqi Kurdistan: PUK Visits Iran
UNPO NOVEMBER : Representatives of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) will visit Iran not only to discuss the political situation in the region but also to analyse the expansion of bilateral ties.

Representative of Iraq’s Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) to Tehran Nazem Dabbagh said the president and prime minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan region (KRG) are slated to visit Iran. KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani is scheduled t arrive in Tehran on November 10 [2012] to meet with Iranian officials and discuss the political situation in the region. The premier of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and the Iranian officials are also due to exchange views over the expansion of bilateral ties, especially in economic spheres, Dabbagh told FNA on Monday [November 5th, 2012].
He said the KRG prime minister was due to travel to Iran earlier but the busy schedule of the Iranian officials caused the two sides to decide to postpone the trip to a later date. The envoy further pointed out that the KRG President, Massoud Barzani, also intends to visit Iran, but no specific date has yet been decided for his travel.
