Iranian spy balloons monitor borders with Kurdistan
17.04.2014 – Bestun Kakayi – BasNews, Iran – Iranian military commanders have revealed that Iran monitors its borders, including that with the Kurdistan Region, with spy balloons.
According to the Iranian media, during a military parade in Kermanshah, a Kurdish city in the west of Iran, Iranian military commanders said that spy balloons are used to monitor Iran’s borders. “The balloons have been installed in places like Sanandaj, Kermanshah and Uremia. They monitor the region and protect the security of the borders,” said Hussain Zulfaqar, a commander in the Iranian Army. He said that the spy balloons recorded all movement 24 hours a day and relayed the information directly to military headquarters in Tehran. Furthermore, Zulfaqar said that the spy balloons were not only bullet proof, but could also fly as high as 900m from the ground.
