HALGORD HIKMAT : Peshmerga & YPG – There is No Cooperation between us
05.08.2014 – Mewan Dolamari – BasNews, Erbil – Both the Kurdish Peshmerga Ministry and the Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG) forces have emphasized that although both sides continue to fight against the Islamic State (IS) militants, but there is no cooperation between them.“The stance and reaction of YPG forces against the ISIS insurgents is a national duty but there is no strong cooperation between us,” said the Spokesman of Peshmerga Ministry Halgord Hikmat. Spokesperson of YPG forces, Polat Can, told Kurdish local media that they continue fighting the IS insurgents, but there is no cooperation between YPG forces and the Peshmerga.
“According to our information, IS rebels are preparing big forces in Mosul to attack Rabia areas which are under the control of YPG forces now,” said Can. “ISIS has increased their attacks on YPG forces in Hasakah city in Syrian Kurdistan that clashes have been continued on Monday night until the morning,” added Jan.He also mentioned that in order to fight against the IS militants, they would prefer to connect and cooperate with the Peshmerga commanders. Meanwhile, one of the PKK leaders, Murat Karayılan, has called to have a joint committee with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) to fight the IS.
