GUE/NGL demands immediate release of former MEP Feleknas Uca
Brussels, 15/11/2012 – “It was with horror that we discovered that the former German GUE/NGL MEP of Kurish origin, Feleknas Uca, was arrested by an anti-terrorist unit yesterday when she arrived in Istanbul,” said GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer. “We strongly condemn the fact that on charges of membership of the PKK and KCK, she should be detained for two to four days, which could include 24 hours incommunicado. We demand her immediate release and a full explanation,” said MEP Zimmer.
