Erdoğan: Turkey Won’t Accept New State in Northern Syria / Assad regime & other forces are implanting the same agenda
ANKARA – BasNews – 27 June 2015 – The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared his country won’t accept a new state in northern Syria, which is the Kurdish region of Syria.Erdoğan, during an Iftar meal to break the fast of Ramadan, said that latest development inside Syria shows that the Assad regime and other forces are implanting the same agenda.
“The result of reality in the ground shows that Syrian regime along with other separatists [Kurdistan Workers’ party (PKK], are going on the same agenda”, said Turkish president.He also said that Ankara rejects the possibility of independence and split of Syrian Kurdistan from the rest of the country. “Turkey won’t accept a new state to be established in northern Syria, or next to Turkish southern borders and we are against any project that aims to create such a state”, warned Erdoğan.He also rejected accusation that Turkey behind the recent Islamic State attacks in Syrian Kurdistan. “Despite the PKK threats, it was Turkey who provided support and assistance to Kobani people”, concluded Turkish president.
