BARZANI’S TURN-AROUND : Barzani’s ‘unexpected decision’ revealed

11-3-2014 – Kurdpress  – Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani’s recent threatening remark against Baghdad was revealed with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Spokesman saying that Barzani’s threat was a return to Iraq’s constitution that says the people of the region have remained a part of the country and they can decide their fate whenever they will.

Speaking to Hawlati daily Jaaffar Imenki said Massoud Barzani’s ‘unexpected decision’ refers to the introduction of the Iraqi constitution that says it is on the people of the region to decide to be a part of Iraq or leave the country. Barzani is willing to see the region as a part of Iraq but if the laws are breached then what the Kurds would achieve. Barzani warned Baghdad two days ago to make “unexpected decisions” if the central government continues making tensions with the self-ruling enclave. Flames of rift between the two sides were flamed after the central government decided to cut the salaries of the region’s clerk in retaliation to the region’s “unilateral oil policies” and signing oil deals with Turkey and major foreign firms.
